Dear Marie:

Thank you for contacting Kroger regarding Simple Truth Beans. We appreciate your inquiry. At this time we do not guarantee any of our products to be BPA free unless the product is packaged in glass.
I hope that you find this information helpful. If I can be of further assistance, please simply respond to this email or call 1-800-632-6900.

Thank you for shopping with us.

Sincerely,
Carrera

Dear Carrera,

Thank you for your swift reply! However, my question is perhaps a bit more nuanced. I am not simply interested in whether the can lining of Simple Truth Organics: Tri-Bean Blend contains BPA, I want to know what the can lining is composed of. There are many options, including BPA, BPB and oleoresin to name a few. I understand that this information--the contents of the can lining--may only be known by the can-producer, but I am unable to find any information on the producer by which to inquire of them. I know that the SKU and other numbers indicate the date, time and origin of the can. May I have the information on where the can was produced and by whom?

If not, why not? How can a consumer find out this information, particularly if one is concerned about possible adverse reactions? I prefer the Kroger Simple Truth Organics brand, and this information is very important to me. I purchase at least 20 cans a month for meals for my children, and take the issue seriously.

My satisfaction might also be found in an answer to this question: My previous customer service representative (I fear I may spell it incorrectly, Shavaun?) helpfully found a file note to producers that indicates Kroger will no longer accept BPA can linings, but could not tell when this instruction was issued, or when it will go into effect. Can you shed any further light on this issue?

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I appreciate it.

Peacefully,
Marie Mainard O'Connell

So, does Jesus care?

My husband, the Shakespeare Scholar, pointed out tonight that all plays are based on conflict, and all plays can be summarized as "Things would be better if you were nicer to each other."  Thus one could say that the basic theme of all forms of drama is "don't be a jerk".

So far I think our little drama is on track with that.  I predict I will get a polite reply, with an apologetic lack of further information.  I will rejoin with a request for additional information from a higher up, and will be forwarded to one higher, who will summarily squash further request and refuse additional conversation.  Let's see if my powers of prophesy could work in Vegas.

Jesus, on the other hand, tends to prefer surprises and parables, so I'm hoping that I'm wrong.

God bless and goodnight!
Marie
